My grandmother worked in a bakery, and my mother made my wedding cake; however, the decorating skills stopped with me. I have thrown temper tantrums over gingerbread not sticking, and have served many not so great looking cakes. However, I found an icing that will make my cookies look like show stoppers!
Why I like this recipe:
- It doesn't take milk, which I commonly do not have in the fridge.
- It is easy to decorate with as it doesn't leave stripes or other marks
- It is "sticky" so when decorating with sprinklers or your desired topping they will actually stick.
- You throw everything into the mixer all at once and mix together in one easy step.
Ingredients
- 2 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp salt
Combine all the ingredients in the mixer and whisk on medium speed for approximately 4 minutes. When soft peaks form, scrape down the sides, whisk together. The icing is ready to use immediately!
